XL Axiata introduced 5G services at the Formula E car racing event in Jakarta on June 4, 2022. Various preparations are currently being made on the ground so that this super-fast data and internet service can be present to support the racing event. The 5G service from XL Axiata will be accessible at several points around the Formula E Circuit and is completely free or free of charge.

To provide a real 5G mobile experience for customers, especially visitors in the Formula E arena, XL Axiata has received support from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia, including using the 3.5GHz frequency band. A number of 5G access points will be set up around the circuit, covering several areas where race spectators, journalists and broadcasters, support teams, and Formula E event work units gather.

Adopting all the preparations in the previous Mandalika MotoGP race event, at the Formula E car racing event in Jakarta this time, XL Axiata will conduct a series of 5G XL Axiata trials with a 3.5GHz spectrum to provide the best service. XL Axiata's 5G network is ready to support Formula E car racing and reintroduce this super-fast internet and data access service to the public, including foreign guests attending this international event.
